destroy the idea that your art is bad just because it doesn’t look like other people’s art. your art is your own thing - it doesn’t have to meet anyone’s standards but your own

!QUESTION!
- To all the artists that see this, what are some ways you guys get your art online (scanning, etc) that preserves the art quality? I want to start selling my art but I don’t want their images to be mediocre. Any suggestions?
art has been used throughout history as a tool of oppression just as much as it has been used as a tool of expression. it is important to dissect and critique art on every level, it does not get a free pass to perpetuate whatever potentially harmful messages it wants just out of its nature of being art.
Every ‘’art kid/art hoe’’ blog:
• drawings in an expensive journal that look like they were drawn by 7 yr old
• kanken backpacks. a lot of kanken backpacks
• very expensive art supplies
• them: omg i’m such a plant lover!!!111!! plants are friends!!!!111
them: *has 1 small succulent in their room*
• pictures of very skinny girls in mom jeans, mustard cardigans and adidas superstars
• url with ‘’kid/hoe/plant/peach’’ in it
• paintings by van gogh/matisse/monet
• grids in pastel colours
And what a wonderful life it is
v relatable up until you make fun of someone’s art abilities!!
So today in Design class the teacher asked if I would demonstrate how to cut a piece of wood at a certain angle and a girl in my class said “Zoe’s great at cutting! You should see her wrist” before I could even react the really quiet girl in my class got out of her seat punched the girl in the face without even saying a word.
